Musical 1.1.0
Steadier streaming and stats you can trust.
Improved
- Statistics, fixed. Your listening stats now count plays correctly, and your iPhone and iPad pick up new plays from your Mac incrementally instead of re-downloading your whole history.
- Steadier connections. iPhone and iPad reconnect to your Mac faster and more reliably, including when you move between Wi-Fi and cellular.
- Faster song starts. Streams begin sooner, and your Mac pauses background preparation work while a device is listening.
- WAV and AIFF stream properly. Uncompressed files are now converted to the quality your device asks for instead of being sent at full size.
- Hi-res and multichannel files now convert correctly for streaming.
Under the hood
- General reliability and performance polish.
Musical 1.0.2
A warmer welcome and a tidier Mac.
New
- A brand-new welcome. Musical's first-run experience has been redesigned from the ground up, in the style of musical.rocks. It walks you through what matters — your own collection, lossless playback, offline listening — and gets you into your music faster.
- Personalise before you connect. Pick your default tab, choose whether to remember shuffle & repeat, and decide whether to show suggestions during setup — then pair.
- A redesigned About. Settings ▸ About now matches the website: what Musical does, the "own it once" promises (Pay once, Lossless, Offline, Private) and a plain-English note that your music stays yours.
Improved
- Connect to a Mac, inline. Pairing another Mac now lives directly in Settings ▸ Devices as a normal, scrollable list — no more cramped floating window.
- Tidier menus. Removed the redundant File ▸ New Window and Musical ▸ Services items.
Under the hood
- General reliability and performance polish.
